The Pleading “Call’
Presenter: Pastor U,C. itauma
Scripture Reading: {Isaiah 55:1-13}
Text: (John 4:14) “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst…………..’
Introduction:
The dean of the Major Prophets sounds jubilant in his writing of this unusual call as though it is from a merchant. The merchant is evidently making a plea to customers to come and bye his product. He knows for sure that the customers need the product he is selling and so he pleads with them to give the product utmost attention and consideration. The merchant is God, the creator of Heaven and Earth; the customers are humans, the creature!
Message:
In the reading of the chapter of Isaiah, Creator speaks of four kinds of customers’ and the various needs:
1. Those who seek to quench their thirst (Isaiah 55:1), (John 7:37), (Rev. 3:18, 21:6, & 22:17)
2. Those who are destitute (Isaiah 55:1), (Matt.5:3), (Rev. 3:17-18)
3. Those that are deceived (Isaiah 55:2)
4. Those who are wicked (Isaiah 55:7), (1 Cor. 6:9-11)
Conclusion: This glorious call is for everybody, people of all nations, color, class or condition. The call is for Saints and Sinners. It is for the people of God and for Pagans. If you are conscious of your needs and you are cognizant of your inability to meet all those needs, then “COME” for Jesus is calling {Matt. 11:28-30
